Hillcrest Kennel has been Breeding, Training, Field Trialing, and offering our English Setter’s for sale since 2013. We are extremely selective in the selection process we practice. We only breed a couple of litters each year and they are always a product of careful selection. This selectivity is the reason Hillcrest Kennel was invited to participate in Setters Unlimited with other top English Setter breeders..
Our selection process id focused on producing exceptional English Setter’s for the serious upland bird hunter. We also have all dog’s DNA Certified and all dog’s over 2 years of age are OFA Hips Certified. The traits we focus on are listed below.

Jim and Zach have been competing National Shoot to Retrieve field trials for 15 years. We feel NSTRA is a great way to evaluate our dogs as breeding stock. We feel that NSTRA is a great test of the traits that make a wild bird dog. Dog’s must find game in an effective manner, hold solid point, retrieve to hand and honor another dog. Unlike many kennels we at Hillcrest Kennel put more emphasis on our female’s in our breeding program . All females are run in NSTRA and are hunted on wild birds so we can evaluate them properly.
